Waste & Material Storage Retaining Walls

Engineered for demanding environments.

Smart, compliant walling solutions for waste, recycling & highways depots

From scrap metal to road grit, our retaining wall systems provide a durable, low-maintenance solution for safe and efficient material storage.

Whether you’re upgrading a Household Waste & Recycling Centre (HWRC), constructing a new highways depot, or designing high-volume storage bays for bulk material, we select the best system to meet your project’s needs.

Made from high-strength C60/75 concrete, our precast L-walls provide excellent resistance to impact, harsh exposure conditions, and aggressive environments – making them ideal for operational yards, local authority facilities, and commercial recycling sites.

Wall Systems for Waste & Recycling Projects

CLF walls are perfect for simple storage bays with 90° corners, interlocking joints, and quick installation.

DLF walls offer increased surcharge capacity, up to 25 kN/m² as standard, making them suitable for heavier materials and deeper bays.

For sites with higher load demands, fire safety requirements, or frequent vehicle impacts, our ELF units offer a fully engineered solution with thicker wall sections, longer design life, and customised reinforcement cover.

Working on a split-level site is always challenging, and late design changes required many foundations that were not initially planned. This was a test for us to keep everything on track for the University at a critical stage, and meant they had to be very flexible indeed. We’ve been very impressed with the team, who were committed to delivering a quality job.

Flexible retaining walls to suit your material, layout, and risk profile

No two projects are the same, and our retaining walls are designed with that in mind.

You can select from a wide variety of heights, lengths, and wall types to match different ground conditions, material densities, and fire ratings.

Corner units are available for all heights, making multiple bay construction straightforward.

Fire safety and durability where it counts

Sites storing combustible waste or timber usually need a 2-hour (120-minute) fire resistance between bays or structures. We can help you achieve this by customising wall thickness, reinforcement design, and concrete cover with our ELF system. Our retaining walls are also well-suited to aggressive exposure conditions such as:
  • XD3 (chloride exposure from de-icing salts)
  • XS3 (marine splash zones)
  • XF4 (freeze-thaw with high water saturation)
  • XA3 (chemically aggressive environments)
For long-term infrastructure use, our ELF walls can be engineered to achieve a design life of 100–120 years, depending on project specifications and site conditions. All designs are developed by our in-house engineers in accordance with Eurocodes 0, 1, 2, 7, and 8.

With excellent product availability, quick quotes, and experienced technical support, we’re here to make your project simpler from day one.

The Company We Keep

Sustainable By Design

We design our wall systems to reduce waste, minimise carbon, and support safer, cleaner construction. From responsible material choices to long-lasting durability, sustainability is built into every CBS unit.
  • Reduced cement content – Our high-strength C60/75 concrete is engineered for performance with less material, reducing embodied carbon.
  • Optimised reinforcement – Steel is only used where structurally required, avoiding excess and unnecessary weight.
  • Precast for lower impact – Off-site manufacturing cuts down on site emissions, installation time, and vehicle movements.
  • Longer design life – Extended durability reduces future maintenance, replacements, and carbon over the asset lifecycle.
  • Recycled water & efficient batching – Concrete production uses recycled process water and automated systems to minimise waste.
Whether you’re working on a public infrastructure project or a commercial recycling facility, our walls help you deliver sustainable outcomes without compromise.
