Sustainable Retaining Wall Construction
Smarter precast. Smaller impact.
We don’t believe in overclaiming
But we do believe in doing things better, and that includes how we design and manufacture our retaining wall systems.
From the geometry of each unit to the energy that powers our factory, we’re working hard to reduce the carbon footprint of every retaining wall we supply and install.
Lower-carbon concrete, already in use
All our retaining walls are made with a reduced-carbon mix, designed to deliver the same strength and finish, but with considerably less cement.
And we’re not stopping there. The CBS Group is actively developing cement-free concrete alternatives, with promising results already seen in production trials.
50%
Up to 50% less cement already achieved in standard concrete mixes
60%
Targeting 60% cement reduction across all production
94 kg
Eco-concrete mixes that produce just 94 kg CO₂ per m³, compared to 340 kg in traditional concrete
250 kg
That’s a saving of 250 kg CO₂ per m³, already making a measurable difference on projects
Cleaner production processes
Every product is cast using self-compacting concrete, with up to 75% of the water coming from recycled sources. No vibration. No slurry. No excess waste.
We’ve also been using recycled aggregates in selected batches since 2013, and we’re scaling this up wherever it meets performance standards.
Designed to reduce waste and cut emissions
Our wall systems are designed to optimise material use and minimise unnecessary transportation. That adds up to cleaner builds, safer sites, and fewer unnecessary materials.
Lighter unit weights and longer wall sections reduce the number of deliveries needed
Smart wall geometry and a leaner mix design equals less concrete per unit
In-house reinforcement production ensures better quality control and reduces transport loads from suppliers.
No-fix installation means no resin anchors, no grout, and no drilling on site.
