Infrastructure retaining walls

Engineered for long-life, high-load infrastructure projects.

High-performance walls for roads, rail, flood defences and public infrastructure

Infrastructure projects demand more from every element – higher load capacity, longer lifespan, and resilience in harsh conditions.

Our precast retaining wall systems are designed to meet those challenges. From highway embankments and coastal protection to below-ground structures and public infrastructure, our walls provide strength, speed, and lasting value.

Every wall is produced off-site using high-strength, self-compacting concrete and designed to satisfy the structural, environmental, and durability requirements of the project.

Working on a split-level site is always challenging, and late design changes required many foundations that were not initially planned. This was a test for us to keep everything on track for the University at a critical stage, and meant they had to be very flexible indeed. We’ve been very impressed with the team, who were committed to delivering a quality job.

Flexible and made to fit any infrastructure project

No two projects are the same, and our retaining walls are designed with that in mind. You can choose from a wide range of heights, lengths, and wall types to suit different ground conditions, boundary layouts, and site levels.

Sloping, stepped, and curved sections are all possible, making them ideal for sloping sites or complex layouts.

The units can also be clad in stone or brick, making them a smart choice for projects where the visual finish is important.

Where Our Walls Are Used

Our CLF, DLF, and ELF wall systems are already being used on a wide range of infrastructure projects including:
  • Roads and railway cuttings and embankments
  • Coastal protection (with joint sealing)
  • Flood protection and riverbank retaining walls (with joint sealing)
  • Basements and below-ground structures (where waterproofing and jointing are required)
  • Highways depots and grit salt storage
  • Public infrastructure works and landscaping within large-scale developments
  • Hard landscaping and earth retention as part of larger infrastructure works
Each wall system is customised to the project design, considering ground conditions, loading, exposure class, and installation access. We’ll assist you in choosing the best solution.

What Makes Our Walls Different

Our walls are designed for durability and are manufactured with the flexibility to match your specification.
  • Up to 25 kN/m² surcharge capacity as standard (DLF)
  • Higher surcharge capacity available with bespoke ELF designs
  • Design life of 50 years (CLF/DLF) or up to 120 years (ELF)
  • C60/75 self-compacting concrete
  • Minimum 30 mm reinforcement cover, increased where required
  • Exposure classes supported: XC4, XF3, XD3, XS3, XA3
  • Certified to EN 15258 for precast retaining walls
  • Designed to Eurocodes EN 1990, 1991, 1992, 1997, and 1998
For projects in coastal, marine, buried, or highly aggressive environments, we’ll advise on increased cover, joint sealing, and protective measures as needed.

Efficient to install - Designed for speed

All our units are manufactured with lifting anchors and interlocking joints for safe, fast, accurate installation.

Standard walls can be installed at a rate of up to 80 metres per day by a three-person team using standard lifting equipment.

Longer 4m units are available to reduce the number of lifts and minimise disruption on site – ideal for highways, rail, and tight-access locations.

Custom Design Support for Complex Sites

Our ELF retaining wall system is fully adaptable to your project, designed from the ground up to meet specific structural and environmental requirements. With wall heights reaching up to 6m, section thicknesses of up to 300 mm, and customised reinforcement, ELF is the ideal choice for sites
  • Higher surcharge capacity
  • Extended design life
  • Exposure to aggressive or marine environments
  • Additional durability and structural assurance
We’ll work with your team to develop a fully compliant, cost-effective solution.

Looking for something more architectural?

Choose our Reckli decorative concrete walls available in a range of textured finishes. Or add our StoneBoxTM hybrid gabion facing to CLF and DLF units for a softer look that blends into landscaping schemes.

Reckli Retaining Walls

Reckli walls are standalone precast retaining units with a decorative textured face, providing a clean architectural finish straight from the mould. Perfect for residential developments where visual quality is important – whether it’s a boundary wall, a landscaped terrace, or a communal garden feature.

Stonebox System

StoneBoxTM is a modular, gabion-style steel cage designed to attach directly to CLF or DLF units. Once installed, the cage is filled with stone on-site, creating the appearance of a gabion retaining wall, without the large quantity of stone or lengthy installation times associated with traditional systems.

The Company We Keep

Sustainable By Design

From material selection to transport and installation, our walls are designed to minimise environmental impact.
    • Optimised concrete mix with reduced cement content
    • Recycled water used in production
    • Reinforcement only where structurally required
    • Off-site manufacturing to reduce waste and site disruption
It’s all part of our approach to building smarter, leaner infrastructure – without compromising performance.
