CLF10GS Cantilever Retaining Walls
A faster, fix-free approach to cantilever retaining wall construction.
Rethinking cantilever retaining wall construction.
Traditional precast retaining wall systems often rely on drill-and-fix methods and multiple construction stages before the wall becomes fully operational.
Our L-shape retaining wall system removes those steps entirely, helping contractors, developers and engineers reduce installation time, simplify delivery, and reduce site risks associated with drilling, including exposure to HAVS and airborne silica dust.
Quotes are available for both supply-only and full supply & install projects across the UK.
- Fast to install – up to 80 metres a day with a three-person team and standard lifting kit
- No fixings, no drilling – cleaner placement with no dust, no HAVS risk, and fewer delays
- 17 height options – from 0.5m to 4.5m in 250mm increments, ready to go
- Strong stock availability – with fast quotes and quick delivery to site
- Flexible layout design – corners, curves, sloping tops and a hybrid gabion finish
- Eurocode compliant & CE marked – designed to Parts 0, 1, 2 and 7; certified to EN 15258
- Engineered for efficiency – less concrete, cement and steel, and easier to handle on site
See how the CLF system simplifies retaining wall construction.
The CLF system integrates the toe, stem and heel into a single precast unit, removing the need for drilled fixings, structural connections and multiple on-site installation stages.
Interlocking joints help guide alignment during installation, while cast-in lifting points and longer unit lengths help reduce handling, lifting and installation time.

Small Details. Big Impact On Site.
Faster Handrail Installation
A bevelled 100mm top edge creates clean visual lines and simplifies handrail fixing on site.
Cleaner Joint Sealing
Chamfered edges improve mastic application and reduce damage to bund walls and silage clamps.
Faster Wall Alignment
Interlocking tongue-and-groove joints help to guide alignment and improve consistency across long wall runs.
More Consistent Finishes
Self-compacting concrete improves surface quality and reduces the risk of honeycombing and other visible defects.
Safer, Faster Handling
Cast-in lifting anchors help simplify lifting operations and improve on-site installation efficiency.
CLF10GS(Z) Retaining Wall With Heel
Our heeled cantilever retaining wall system is designed for sites with low bearing capacity, variable ground conditions, or projects requiring additional stability.
By extending the base geometry, the heel helps spread loads more effectively, improve stability and reduce bearing pressure without relying on additional fixings or anchors.
Explore the 3D model to see how the integrated heel detail supports different site conditions while maintaining the same fix-free installation approach.

CLF10GS Product Range
- Units are available in a wide range of standard heights, with 2m long units offered as standard and 1m lengths available where lighter lifts or restricted access are required.
- Selected units with * are also available in 4m lengths to reduce the number of lifts, joints and installation time on larger retaining wall projects.
- Corner units are available across the full height range, while heeled variants (CLF10GS(Z)) offer additional stability for sites with low bearing capacity or variable ground conditions.
- Download the relevant datasheets below for detailed dimensions, unit weights and technical details.
Working on a split-level site is always challenging, and late design changes required more retaining wall foundations than were initially planned. This was a test for us to keep everything on track for the University at a critical stage, and meant they had to be very flexible indeed. We’ve been very impressed with the team, who were committed to delivering a quality job.

Designed to work in all site conditions
Every retaining wall project is different. Ground levels, layouts, loading requirements and site constraints all influence how the wall needs to work in practice.
The CLF system is designed to accommodate stepped foundations, sloping top profiles, curves, corners and handrail integration while maintaining the same fix-free installation approach across the system.
Stepped Foundation With Level Top
Ideal for sloping sites where a consistent retaining wall height and clean top line are required.
Level Foundation With Sloping Top
Allows the retaining wall to follow changing ground levels while maintaining a level foundation.
External Radius (Concave Wall)
Custom curved retaining walls designed for roads, landscaped areas and non-linear layouts.
Internal Radius (Convex Wall)
Designed for tighter layouts and recessed retaining wall applications where internal curves are required.
Precast Corner Units
Available in 90° and 45° configurations to simplify corners without site cutting or modification.
Handrail Compatibility
Consistent 100mm top thickness simplifies temporary edge protection and permanent handrail installation.
StoneboxTM Option
Hybrid retaining wall finish combining structural precast concrete with a gabion-style architectural facade.
The Company We Keep
Reducing material use without compromising performance
The CLF system is designed to reduce unnecessary material use through leaner geometry, efficient reinforcement design and factory-controlled production methods.
Combined with reduced-cement self-compacting concrete and recycled process water, this results in a retaining wall system that reduces waste and improves production efficiency without compromising structural performance.
- Leaner geometry helps reduce concrete volume per unit
- Reduced-cement self-compacting concrete mix
- 75% recycled water used in production
- Reinforcement placed only where structurally required
- Factory operations partially supported by on-site renewables

Common questions about the CLF retaining wall system
Do the walls need to be fixed down?
No, the CLF units are designed for fix-free installation – no bolts, bars, or grout needed in most cases. Their shape, weight, and interlocking joints keep everything securely in place. It’s one of the biggest time and money savers our customers appreciate.
What plant do we need to install the walls?
You’ll need lifting equipment compatible with DEHA shackles. A telehandler or excavator with a lifting chain is suitable for most sites. Units up to 2.5 m are delivered upright, so there’s no need to rotate them before installation.
Do we need a concrete foundation?
Not always. If your site has good ground conditions with standard loadings and surcharge, you can install on a compacted base with a sand/cement blinding layer. For heavier loads or poor ground conditions, your engineer may specify a poured concrete base. We’re happy to supply the relevant product information to help with the design.
What corner options are available?
We supply precast internal corners where the base toes overlap. For external corners, the units are simply aligned side by side on site. Standard angles are 90° and 45°, but we can also cast custom angles to suit your layout.
What heights and lengths are available to choose from?
CLF10GS walls are available in 17 heights ranging from 500mm to 4m. Standard lengths are 2m, but we also offer 1m units suitable for tighter spaces and 4m units ideal for low-level walls – great for reducing lifts and joints.
Can we customise our walls with handrails or sloping tops?
Yes. Sloping top units are cast to order, and handrails can be fixed on site using chemical anchors (which we recommend over mechanical fixings to prevent cracking). We don’t cast fixings in – it gives you more flexibility on site.
How quickly can we get the units to site?
We keep standard sizes in stock, so we can usually deliver within a week. Sloping tops, custom heights, and decorative finishes are made to order – lead time is typically 2–4 weeks for these units.
